Words from the winner Chisato Tateno – Miss Sake 2025
Hello everyone,My name is Chisato Tateno, 2025 Miss SAKE Japan.
On June 13th, 2025, the final selection of the "2025 Miss SAKE Japan" competition was held at The Westin Miyako Kyoto. I am deeply honored to have been chosen as the 12th Miss SAKE Japan.
Sake is a crystallization of Japanese culture, born from the harmony of nature through the four seasons, traditional craftsmanship, and the skill of dedicated artisans. In every single drop lies the spirit of Japan—our respect for nature and the warmth of caring for others.
This value has been recognized worldwide, and in December 2024, sake was inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, attracting even greater global attention.
Over the past three months leading up to the final selection, we devoted ourselves each weekend to the "Nadeshiko Program." Through this, we received invaluable guidance from experts in sake and Japanese culture, allowing us to deepen our knowledge and broaden our perspectives.
With the pride and responsibility that come with the title of Miss SAKE Japan, I am wholeheartedly committed to sharing the profound story of sake with as many people as possible. Sake is not merely an alcoholic beverage; it is a cultural heritage nurtured over centuries and a bridge that connects people.
Through my future activities, nothing would bring me greater joy than to see more people, both in Japan and abroad, grow to appreciate sake and the culture of Japan.
I sincerely ask for your continued warm support and guidance.
Yours faithfully,
Chisato Tateno
